Soulitude

Last week, I went on a solo venture and I'm so happy I did because it has been awhile since I've gone on one.

Here's how it went:

Day 1: Woke up at 5:30 am and started my long drive to Pemberton at 6:00am. I arrived at Joffre Lakes at 9:00am. The parking lot was not packed which is surprising for this popular park that had just re-opened after being closed for a year. This was a treat for me. I've avoided going here for a few years because of how popular and crowded it got. Also grateful for the Park Pass system for crowd control and for nature!

It was so refreshing hiking alone.

When I got to the third lake, I met these girls who so willingly took photos of me. They were looking to hike up to where you could see the three lakes and I told them I know how to get there, so they followed me, along with another group and another solo hiker. Even though we couldn't go all the way to the top where the viewpoint is due to snow, we went to the farthest we could go and there, we had our snacks, did some tiktok dance, and took lots of photos. It was so much fun! Such amazing people.

This brought me back to why I love exploring alone, travelling alone and how the universe always takes care of me. I am so grateful for life!

After the hike, I drove to Whistler where I stayed for the night. Great accommodation right in the village. I went straight to the pool to cool off, then had Mexican for dinner and did some shopping.

Day 2: I checked out of the hotel at 11:00 am, had ice cream for breakfast (haha!), more shopping, then on I went to my appointment at the Scandinavian Spa. Got there a bit early to relax my body before an even more relaxation, massage! Ahh, the massage was so great after my adventure the day prior. I stayed in the baths for another 4 hours! I just relaxed and slept for the most part in a hammock. The cool plunge felt so great with how hot it was that day (the start of the heat wave). I had a nourishing dinner after, before I drove back home.

Phew! What a great 2 days spent with my self! I felt so rejuvenated, inspired, connected, and can't wait to create! I had so many ideas popping up.

Here's my take away from this experience: Learn to love your own company and you can conquer the world! Never let loneliness make you settle for less. You're deserving of only the best! If no one can give you that, you have YOU to give you that! and only YOU can give you that!!
